A poor woodcutter

Once upon a time, in a small village, there lived a poor woodcutter named Thomas. Thomas loved to chop wood in the forest near a sparkling river. One day, while he was chopping wood, his axe slipped from his hands and fell into the river. He sat by the river feeling very sad because he had no money to buy a new axe. Thomas decided to sit there and think about what he could do.
