Rex is an australian shepherd puppy who is abandoned in the Dubai desert. He is all alone with no food or shelter. He is eventually saved by a horse rider called Malika who then takes him to a vet for cleaning and vaccination. He is then homed with new parents Andrea and Thameez, who love him like crazy

Abandoned

In the vast and scorching desert, a little Australian Shepherd puppy meekly wandered over the sand dunes. He had been abandoned by his owner, he was homeless, scared and very hungry.
The midday sun beat down on him, and he longed for a drop of water to quench his thirst. He missed his old home, his comfortable bed and his loving family. His little heart sank as he realised he was all alone.

Lost and Alone

When he had almost given up hope, he heard a distant noise. He slowly raised his head and saw something in the distance, coming towards him. He cowered in fear. But once the moving object got close he saw it was a lady on a beautiful white and grey horse. She smiled. She has kindness in her eyes that he knew he could trust. "Hey there little guy, what are you doing out here all alone?" His little tail wagged left to right with joy as he realised he might have found help. "My name is Malika, and I'm going to call you Rex. Is that ok with you?" She asked, as she gently picked him up and placed him on her horse. Rex licked her nose with delight.

A Ray of Hope

Malika took Rex to a nearby vet who cleaned him up and gave him a thorough check-up. He had a warm shower with lots of bubbles to make sure all the bugs and insects were off of him.The kind vet also gave Rex some delicious  food and a cosy bed to rest in. Rex felt safe and warm for the first time in days and something within him knew he was going to be okay.

A Safe Haven

After a few days of rest and care, Rex was feeling strong enough and ready to start a new chapter in his life. Malika had been working hard to find him a loving home. On the day he arrived, he was very nervous to see where he would now be living. His little legs shook with fear. 

However, within minutes, his new Mommy, Andrea,  has welcomed Rex with open arms and little kisses on his wet nose, promising to take care of him forever. Rex's tail wagged non-stop as he explored his new home, feeling loved and cherished.

New Beginnings

Rex settled in quickly. He learned his routine but always felt such sadness when Andrea went to work. He would sleep, play with his toys and sometimes chase his tail. 

But at 4pm, he was always ready, waiting at the door, desperate to hear the sound of his Mommy's car/ This was his favourite time of day, when Mommy came home. He was always worried he would be abandoned again, perhaps Mommy would forget about him. But she never did, and every day when she came home, he felt like the luckiest puppy in the world. Rex knew he had found his forever home.

Settling In

Every day brought new adventures for Rex. He loved going on long walks with Andrea in the desert. Sometimes Daddy brought his bicycle and Rex had fun trying to catch Daddy although Daddy zoomed far too fast for Rex's little legs.
He met a new best friend, Joey and their favourite thing to do was play chase and dig in the sand together. 
He grew stronger and bigger every week and soon, being lost and abandoned in the desert was becoming a faint memory.

New Adventures

As the days turned into weeks and the weeks turned into months, Rex knew he had found his forever home. Andrea cherished him, and he returned her love with sloppy kisses and a wagging tail. 
Rex loved cuddles on the sofa watching TV with Andrea, playing ball, desert walks and getting yummy treats.
They were a perfect match, and Rex couldn't have been happier.

A Forever Home

And so, Rex's tale of abandonment turned into a beautiful story of love and belonging. He may have been lost and alone once, but now he was surrounded by love and happiness. With Andrea by his side, and a grateful heart to Malika for saving his life, Rex knew that he would live happily ever after.
And...he did!
