Anna and Peter find themselves  transported to the magical Colourland when they enter their grandfathers garden.
In Colourland they learn that each colour represents anemotion. They learn about the emotions in Colourland in an age appropriate way for children 4-8 years old. The emotions are Happiness, sadness, anger, fear, love and surprise. Each chapter adresses one feeling, and has questiones for reflection at the end. These can give the child an opportunity to prosess and  practise using words to express how they feel.

Adventures in Colourland

Anna and Peter stepped into Colourland, their eyes wide with wonder. The first place they visited was a bright yellow meadow, where the sun always shined and the flowers danced in the breeze. 'This is where Happiness lives,' a cheerful butterfly told them. 'Here, you can't help but smile.' As they played in the meadow, Anna and Peter felt a warm, bubbly feeling inside. They realized that happiness is like the sun, always there, even on cloudy days.

The Yellow Meadow of Happiness

Next, they found a deep blue lake, where the water was calm and reflective. 'This is where Sadness dwells,' a wise old turtle explained. 'It's okay to feel sad sometimes.' Anna and Peter sat by the lake, thinking about times they felt sad. They learned that it's alright to cry and that sharing feelings with someone can make your heart lighter, like a leaf floating on the water.

The Blue Lake of Sadness

Their journey led them to a red volcano, rumbling softly. 'This represents Anger,' a strong, red bird said. 'Everyone gets angry, but it's important to find calm ways to express it.' Anna and Peter felt the heat and remembered times they were angry. They learned that taking deep breaths, counting to ten, or talking about why you're angry can help cool down the fiery feeling inside.

The Red Volcano of Anger

Finally, they wandered into a dark green forest. 'This is Fear,' whispered a shadowy figure. 'But even in the darkest places, you can find courage.' Anna and Peter felt scared at first, but then they held hands and bravely walked through the forest. They discovered that facing fears with someone you trust can make you feel safe and strong, like a mighty tree standing tall in the forest.
