Guided by Sylphine’s directions, Alden and Griffyn soar through the forest and arrive at a mystical clearing where the gem rests atop an ancient pedestal. However, a spectral wolf guards the treasure.

Rather than fighting, Alden realizes the wolf is not an enemy but a guardian. Speaking calmly, he convinces the creature to allow Sylphine to reclaim her moonstone. In gratitude, Sylphine gifts Alden a tiny silver feather, promising it will bring him luck. As the dream fades, Alden awakens back in his bed, clutching the feather—proof that his magical adventure was real.

Alden turned to see a magnificent creature standing atop a mossy rock. It had the body of a lion, the wings of an eagle, and piercing golden eyes that shimmered in the moonlight. The creature huffed, ruffling its feathers in annoyance.

"Who... who are you?" Alden asked, taking a careful step forward.

"I am Griffyn," the creature said with a flick of his tail. "And I do not take kindly to intruders. But since you're here, prove your worth. Answer my riddle, and perhaps I shall not send you away."

"That’s it! My moonstone!" the fae cried, fluttering toward it. "But be careful—something is guarding it."

The Mystical Clearing

But Alden shook his head. "Wait! What if the wolf isn’t evil? Maybe it’s just protecting the stone."

The Guardian Appears

The wolf studied Alden for a moment, then let out a low, echoing howl. The air around it shimmered, and instead of attacking, it stepped aside. The fae flew forward, snatching the moonstone with a delighted cheer.

"Clever boy," Griffyn muttered, watching with approval.

The Wise Conversation
