Miko the Meerkat and Lou the lizard live in the hot and dry Kalahari Desert. Miko the Meerkat and Lou the Lizard in the vast Kalahari Desert. Miko and Lou are best friends and do everything together!
Miko is a bright, lively and friendly meerkat. He loves popping and looking out of burrows to explore the Kalahari. Miko likes moving from place to place and can’t stay still! Lou is a clever lizard; she loves to imagine the stars in the sky so much that she sometimes forgets to listen in class. Miko and Lou are different from their friends because they both have ADHD Miko struggled to stay still in class. He was always digging burrows and often got distracted during his How to Spot a Predator class. 
Lou also struggled in class. She couldn’t focus on her Sun Safety class because she was easily distracted by the clouds in the sky and often forgot to take down her homework.After visiting Dr Wild the Wildebeest, Miko and Lou learnt to do things that would help them to manage their ADHD. Although Miko and Lou struggled in class, their ADHD is now an advantage!Miko became the captain of the sand surfing team and had the fastest record in the desert! Miko was also top of his insect tracking class and created the first ever pair of insect spy goggles that could see different insect tracks and tell you what type of insect you are looking at!Lou enjoyed stargazing so much that she was top of the class for astronomy and could name every constellationEven though Miko and Lou had some tough times with their ADHD, they both learnt cool tricks to help them feel better and do their best. They have support from their parents, teachers and classmates. But the best part was that they could count on each other! Miko and Lou learnt how to handle their ADHD together and were always there to help each other when things got tough.

Miko the Meerkat and Lou the Lizard lived in the hot and dry Kalahari Desert. They were best friends and did everything together. Miko was lively and loved exploring. He always popped out of burrows to see what was around. Lou was clever and loved imagining the stars in the sky. She sometimes forgot to listen in class because she was daydreaming. Together, they had many adventures.

Miko had a hard time staying still in class. He was always digging burrows and got distracted easily. His teacher, Mrs. Tortoise, noticed this. She told Miko to try focusing more, but it was difficult for him. Miko liked moving from place to place. He couldn't help but be curious about everything around him. His ADHD made it hard to concentrate.

Lou also had trouble in class. She couldn't focus on her Sun Safety lessons. The clouds in the sky distracted her. Lou often forgot to take down her homework. Her teacher, Mr. Owl, tried to help her pay attention. But Lou's mind would wander to the stars she loved so much. Her ADHD made it challenging to stay on task.

Lou's Daydreams

One day, Miko and Lou visited Dr. Wild the Wildebeest. Dr. Wild was kind and understanding. He listened to their problems in class. Dr. Wild explained that they both had ADHD. He told them it was okay and that they could learn to manage it. Miko and Lou felt relieved. They were ready to learn new ways to help them focus.

Dr. Wild taught Miko and Lou some cool tricks. Miko learned to take short breaks during class. This helped him stay focused for longer. Lou learned to use a special notebook. She wrote down important things to remember. They practiced these tricks every day. Slowly, they started to see improvements.

Miko and Lou's friends were very supportive. They cheered them on during their struggles. Their teachers also helped them a lot. Mrs. Tortoise and Mr. Owl gave them extra time for assignments. Miko's parents helped him practice focusing at home. Lou's parents encouraged her to use her notebook. With everyone's support, they felt stronger.

Miko became the captain of the sand surfing team. He had the fastest record in the desert! His ADHD gave him lots of energy. He used it to become the best sand surfer. Miko also excelled in his insect tracking class. He invented insect spy goggles. These goggles could see different insect tracks. Miko was very proud of his achievements.

Lou loved stargazing more than anything. She became the top student in her astronomy class. Lou could name every constellation in the sky. Her ADHD helped her think creatively. She made a star map for her class. Everyone was amazed by her knowledge. Lou felt happy and confident.

Even though Miko and Lou had successes, they still faced tough times. Sometimes, Miko got too excited and couldn't focus. Lou still daydreamed in class now and then. But they didn't give up. They used the tricks Dr. Wild taught them. They reminded each other to stay on track. Together, they handled their ADHD.
