Growing Up Disabled

Shayla woke up with a smile so bright. Today was a new day, full of light. She had her backpack ready to go. But making friends was still a big woe. Shayla had cerebral palsy and hydrocephalus too. She moved a bit different, but her heart was true. She wished for a friend to share her day. And hoped someone kind would come her way.

A New Day at School

At school, Shayla felt a bit shy. She saw a boy named Shawn-Anthony pass by. He was older, thirteen and tall. But he saw Shayla, so sweet and small. He noticed she was sitting alone. He decided to make her feel at home. Shawn-Anthony said, 'Hi, my name is Shawn.' Shayla smiled back, and the day began.

Meeting Shawn-Anthony

At lunch, Shawn-Anthony sat by Shayla's side. They talked and laughed, their hearts open wide. He showed her a game they could play. Shayla felt happy in every way. They played with blocks and made a tall tower. Each moment passed like a sweet flower. Shayla felt she had found a true friend. Someone who'd be there till the very end.

Lunch Break Fun

One day at school, there was a race. Shayla wanted to join, but feared her pace. Shawn-Anthony saw her worry and said, 'Don't fret. Let's do it together, no need to sweat.' They lined up together, side by side. Shayla felt strong with Shawn-Anthony as her guide. They didn't win, but they had fun. Shayla knew she was never alone, not one.

A Little Challenge

In art class, they painted with glee. Shayla made a rainbow, as bright as can be. Shawn-Anthony drew a big, strong tree. Together, their art was a sight to see. The teacher praised their work so dear. Shayla's heart felt light, with no fear. She knew she was special, with talent to show. And with Shawn-Anthony, she would always grow.

The Art Class

One sunny day, they went to the park. They played on swings until it got dark. Shayla felt free, like a bird in the sky. With her friend Shawn-Anthony always nearby. They shared stories, dreams, and more. Each moment together, they did adore. Shayla learned that friends are like gold. Precious and warm, never cold.

A Day at the Park

Shayla had a fear of speaking out loud. But Shawn-Anthony cheered her on, so proud. He told her, 'You can do it, just try.' Shayla took a deep breath and let out a sigh. She spoke in class, her voice so clear. And everyone clapped, giving her cheer. Shayla felt brave, her confidence grew. With a friend like Shawn-Anthony, she could do anything new.

Facing Fears

Days turned to weeks, and their bond grew strong. Shayla knew with Shawn-Anthony, she belonged. They faced challenges, big and small. But together, they could conquer them all. Shayla learned that friends are a treasure. Bringing joy and endless pleasure. With Shawn-Anthony by her side every day. Shayla knew everything would be okay.
