Two little girls who are cousins, named Nikki and Trini are visiting at their grandmothers house. Their grandmother “g’mom” has four pet cats. G’mom plays a game with the kids to see if they can find all the cats. They find the cats one by one and learn their names. G’mom shares that she grew up being afraid of cats and she wants to make sure that her grandchildren know and love cats.

When summertime comes around, Trini and Nikki visit their grandmother. They love spending time with "G'mom". This time G'mom has a special game planned for them. "Instead of hide and go seek, why don't you girls try to find my cats?" she asked. "They love to hide when new people come around."

The Adventure Begins

Trini and Nikki started their search in the living room. They looked under the couch and behind the curtains. Suddenly, they heard a soft purring sound. It was Etopi, the brown striped tabby cat, curled up in a cozy corner. Trini gently picked up Etopi and gave her a hug. "We found the first one!" Nikki exclaimed. G'mom clapped her hands and smiled proudly.

The First Discovery

The girls moved to the kitchen next. They peeked into the cupboards and under the table. Nikki spotted something gray behind the cereal boxes. It was Iggy, the Russian Blue cat, hiding playfully. "I found Iggy!" Nikki shouted with joy. Trini giggled and gave Iggy a gentle pat. G'mom watched them with a twinkle in her eye. "You're doing great, my loves," she said.

A Surprise in the Kitchen

Next, Trini and Nikki tiptoed into G'mom's bedroom. They checked under the bed and inside the closet. A pair of shining eyes peeked out from a cat bed in the corner. It was Dippers, the all-black sleek cat, watching them curiously. "Dippers is here!" Trini whispered excitedly. Nikki reached out and Dippers purred happily. G'mom chuckled, "That’s three down, one to go!"

The Mysterious Bedroom

The girls decided to search the garden next. They looked behind the bushes and near the flower pots. A soft meow caught their attention near the swing set. It was Binx, the all white cat lounging in the sun. "We found Binx!" Nikki announced, clapping her hands. Trini joined her, and they both hugged Binx gently. G'mom came outside, beaming with pride.

The Garden Hideaway

With all the cats found, the girls sat with G'mom on the porch. G'mom had a story to share with them. She told them how she used to be afraid of cats when she was young. But then, she met a kind cat that changed her mind. "Now, I want you to love and care for them too," G'mom said warmly. Trini and Nikki listened carefully, feeling grateful for the lesson.
