Emily huddled against the cold brick wall, her blonde hair tucked under a worn beanie. Three weeks on the streets had taught her how cruel people could be. "Eww," muttered a passerby as Emily extended her cup for spare change. Tears welled in her eyes as she watched a baker arrange fresh loaves at a nearby stand.
