Jay and His Jungle Friends

Jay was an 8-year-old boy who sometimes felt big emotions. One sunny day, he decided to take a walk in the jungle. As he walked, he met a grizzly bear named Benny who was stuck in some vines. Benny had a gentle face and seemed friendly, but he was frustrated being stuck in the vines. Jay watched Benny stand up and tear the vines apart with a huge roar! Benny shared that this was the ‘fight’ response, and it helps him to keep safe if he feels scared. When he feels worried, his body feels hot and prickly, and he is ready to take on anything! Jay had a think, and wondered if when he feels cross, or when he argues, if this might be his way of displaying the ‘fight’ response too? Jay was curious about what else he might learn on his walk.
