Help my children feel at ease while they know what I’m doing this weekend as I go away from them for the first time. Tell them about how I’m going to be so sad and miss them as I leave the house. How I think about them all the time I’m gone. How I get an uber to the airport, then go through airport security and sit at the lounge before getting on an Air New Zealand plane and fly to Queenstown. How happy I am to be reunited with all my best friends. We are all mums leaving our kids for the first time so we all FaceTime our kids and miss them a lot. And talk about how proud we are of them. Then we have a Mexican night dinner. Then we do a dance class. And after 2 nights away of having fun, I’m so excited to go to the airport and fly back to sydney. Meanwhile Dadda is spoiling them with fun treats like burgers and chips, and taking them to soccer and swimming classes, and even a friends birthday party. They get to watch TV and have so much fun jumping on the bed and being silly with Dadda. Then how I get reunited with my boys Teddy and Max and I’m so happy I could cry with joy. 

Mamma goes to Queenstown

Mama had a plan, a trip to take, 
To Queenstown she’d go, for a little break. 
She hugged her boys, with a tear in her eye, 
But promised them she'd return, by and by. 
Max clapped his hands, Teddy gave a cheer, 
Mama smiled wide, to hide her tear. 
She thought of them always, as she packed her case, 
And blew them a kiss, as she left her place.

Mama's Big Adventure

Mama hopped in an Uber, waved goodbye, 
With thoughts of her boys, she tried not to cry. 
The car zoomed along, the city lights so bright, 
Mama felt a flutter, a mix of joy and fright. 
She imagined their giggles, their playful fun, 
And promised herself, she’d miss not a ton. 
The driver was kind, and played a happy tune, 
As Mama looked forward, to seeing her friends soon.

The Uber Ride

Mama reached the airport, her heart a-flutter, 
Through security she went, without a mutter. 
She found a cozy lounge, to sit and rest, 
Thinking of her boys, whom she loved best. 
She sipped on hot chocolate, and checked her phone, 
Pictures of Max and Teddy, never alone. 
Her heart was full, with love and pride, 
As she waited to board, with joy inside.

At the Airport

On the Air New Zealand plane, Mama took her seat, 
The engines roared, the journey was a treat. 
She watched the clouds, so fluffy and white, 
And thought of her boys, from morning till night. 
The flight was smooth, the view was grand, 
Mama felt the warmth, of her children's hand. 
She knew they'd be fine, with Dadda so near, 
And soon she’d be back, to hold them dear.

Flying High

In Queenstown, Mama met her dear friends, 
Mums like her, on whom she depends. 
They laughed and talked, shared stories and smiles, 
Missing their kids, across the miles. 
They FaceTimed their children, with hearts so full, 
Proud of their kids, their love was a pull. 
Together they shared, their joys and their fears, 
And promised their little ones, they’d soon be near.

Reunion with Friends

The mums had a feast, a Mexican delight, 
With tacos and salsa, under the moonlight. 
They danced around, with laughter and cheer, 
Missing their kids, whom they held dear. 
Mama thought of Max, his giggles so sweet, 
And Teddy’s big hugs, that couldn’t be beat. 
She knew they were happy, with Dadda so fun, 
And soon she’d be home, when the weekend was done.

Mexican Night

They twirled and they jumped, given the chance. 
Mama felt free, her spirit so light, 
But thoughts of her boys, were never out of sight. 
She imagined their laughter, their playful glee, 
And knew they were safe, as safe could be. 
With each step she took, her heart did sing, 
For soon she’d be back, to her little kings.

Dance Class Fun

Back home, Dadda made sure they had fun, 
With burgers and chips, under the sun. 
They played soccer, and went for a swim, 
Teddy and Max, always with him. 
They went to a party, with balloons and cake, 
And jumped on the bed, until they did ache. 
Dadda was the best, they giggled with glee, 
But missed Mama too, as much as could be.

For Max and Teddy, her sweet return.

And how much they’d miss, each little kiss. 
With hugs and goodbyes, they parted ways, 
Excited to see, their children’s gaze.

The Last Night Away

At the airport she went, with a hopeful heart, 
Knowing soon, they’d no longer be apart. 
The plane took off, the journey was sweet, 
Each mile that passed, brought her closer to their street. 
Her heart was full, with love and joy, 
To soon be home, with her little boy.

Homeward Bound

Dadda had planned, a welcome surprise, 
With balloons and smiles, for their mama’s eyes. 
Max and Teddy, with giggles so bright, 
Waited for Mama, with all their might. 
They drew her a picture, with colors so grand, 
And held it up high, in each little hand. 
Dadda was proud, of their happy cheer, 
And knew Mama’s heart, would be full of cheer.

Together again, their family complete, 
Mama’s heart sang, to a joyful beat.
