Mary McLeod Bethune, with her heart full of kindness and her mind brimming with dreams, knew from a young age that everyone deserved a chance to succeed. Even as a little girl, she saw the struggles around her, especially during the tough times of the Great Depression. Mary believed that women, who worked hard every day, should have the same opportunities as everyone else. She decided it was time to make a difference.
