One sunny afternoon, Mighty was exploring his Grandma Pammy's house. He loved looking for hidden treasures. While searching in the back of an old cabinet, he found some valuable coins. They were shiny and looked like they were made of silver and gold. Mighty thought they were the coolest thing ever. He imagined they were like buried treasure. He thought that since they were hidden so far back, Grandma Pammy probably forgot about them. So, he decided to take not one, but two pockets full of coins.

The Hidden Treasure

Later that day, the family decided to go berry picking. They wanted to make delicious blackberry pies. Mighty was excited about the adventure. He loved spending time with his family. Grandma Pammy, Cousin BB, and Mighty all got ready to go. They gathered their baskets and headed to the truck. Cousin BB picked up Mighty to put him in the back of the truck bed. Just then, something unexpected happened.

The Berry Picking Adventure

As Cousin BB lifted Mighty, the coins fell out of his pockets. They clinked and clattered on the ground. Everyone looked surprised. Mighty felt his cheeks turn red. Grandma Pammy looked at Mighty with a puzzled expression. 'Mighty, where did you get these coins?' she asked. Mighty didn't know what to say. He felt a lump in his throat.

The Coins Fall Out

'I found them,' Mighty said quietly. Grandma Pammy asked, 'Where did you find them?' Mighty took a deep breath. 'I found them waaaaaaaaayyyyyy in the back of the cabinet,' he admitted. Grandma Pammy frowned. 'Mighty, you cannot find something that is not yours,' she said gently. 'Those are my coins that I have been collecting for a long time.' Mighty felt bad for taking the coins.

The Truth Comes Out

Grandma Pammy sat down with Mighty. 'It's important to be honest, Mighty,' she said. 'Taking something that doesn't belong to you is not right.' Mighty nodded, feeling sorry for what he had done. 'But Grandma, they were waaaaaaaaaaayyyyyy in the back of the cabinet,' he said. Grandma Pammy smiled kindly. 'Even if they were hidden, they still belong to me,' she explained. 'Honesty is always the best policy.'

Learning About Honesty

Mighty wanted to make things right. 'I'm sorry, Grandma,' he said sincerely. 'I didn't mean to take your special coins.' Grandma Pammy hugged Mighty. 'I know, dear,' she said. 'But next time, remember to ask before taking anything.' Mighty promised to be more honest in the future. He handed the coins back to Grandma Pammy. She was happy to have her collection back.

Making Amends
