Plot Summary:

The character gets overwhelmed by big feelings throughout the day.
Each time, the emotion feels “too big” for their small body.
They try to stomp, shout, hide, or cry.
A gentle adult elephant or friend helps them name the feeling, breathe, and talk about it.
By the end, the character learns a few tools to help them when their feelings get big.

My Feelings are BIG

Little Elephant woke up hugging Teddy Bear tight. 'Today feels BIG inside me,' Little Elephant whispered. Teddy Bear smiled back with button eyes that twinkled. 'Big feelings are okay,' Teddy Bear whispered back.

My Big Feelings

At school, Little Elephant couldn't sit still. Excitement bubbled up like fizzy soda inside. 'Stomp, stomp, stomp!' went Little Elephant's feet. Teacher Elephant gently said, 'When we're excited, we can count to ten.'

During block time, Little Elephant's tower fell down. Angry clouds rumbled in Little Elephant's head. Teddy Bear whispered, 'Hug me tight when you feel mad.' Little Elephant squeezed Teddy and felt the anger slowly melt away.

When recess was canceled, Little Elephant felt tears coming. Sadness felt heavy, like carrying rocks. 'Sometimes we need to let tears fall,' said Teacher Elephant kindly. 'Crying helps wash sad feelings away, just like rain.'

The new slide at the playground looked very tall. Fear made Little Elephant's heart thump-thump fast. 'We can be brave together,' Teddy Bear promised. Little Elephant took one small step, then another.

When Teacher Elephant praised another student's drawing, Little Elephant felt strange. Jealousy felt prickly and green all over. 'Everyone shines in different ways,' Teddy Bear reminded. 'Your turn will come too.'

Some days, Little Elephant felt ALL the feelings at once. It was like a jumbled-up rainbow inside. 'My feelings are too big for me!' cried Little Elephant. Teacher Elephant nodded, 'Let's sort them out one by one.'

Too Many Feelings

Teddy Bear taught Little Elephant a special trick. 'Put me on your tummy and breathe slowly.' Little Elephant watched Teddy rise and fall with each breath. The big feelings started to feel smaller.

When feelings got too big, Little Elephant learned to dance. Shaking trunks and wiggling ears helped feelings flow out. 'Our bodies help our feelings move,' Teacher Elephant explained. 'Just like water flows in a river.'

Little Elephant saw a friend looking sad at lunch. 'Would you like to hold Teddy Bear?' Little Elephant offered kindly. 'Teddy helps with big feelings.' The friend's trunk curled into a small smile.

Little Elephant still had BIG feelings every day. But now, those feelings didn't seem so scary anymore. 'My feelings are big because my heart is big,' Little Elephant told Teddy Bear. 'And that's just right for me.'
