In a land not far, in a land not near, lived a monster named Max, full of cheer. Though he was fluffy and purple, with just one eye, he was quite kind, never made anyone cry. But Max was lonely, no friends in sight, he wished for a buddy to share his delight.

The Lonely Monster

Max decided one day to visit the town, hoping to turn his frown upside down. But children screamed and ran away, thinking Max was there to play. "Oh dear," Max sighed with a tear in his eye, "I only wanted to say hi."

In the crowd, a girl named Lucía stood still, she didn't run, she didn't shrill. She walked up to Max with a curious gaze, "Hello, I'm Lucía," she said in a daze. Max was surprised but gave a big grin, "I'm Max," he said, with a heart full of kin.

Meeting Lucía

Lucía thought hard and came up with a plan, to show everyone Max was a friendly man. "We'll throw a party," she said with glee, "A Halloween bash for all to see!" Max nodded happily, excited to try, hoping to make friends under the moonlit sky.
