Ramayana Initiation

Once upon a time, in the kingdom of Kosala, lived a wise and elderly sage named Viswamithra. He came to meet King Dasaratha with a special request. Viswamithra needed the help of the king's eldest son, for a sacrifice he knew he needed to do. Rama was a brave and kind boy, known for his courage and wisdom. The sage wanted Rama to help him in a sacred mission. The king at first wanted to say no for he wanted to keep Rama safe. The king at first refused to let him take Rama. After some discussing the King agreed telling the sage to also take Rama's brother Lakshmana.
