Alice sat on the small wooden chair, staring out of the window, dreaming of the sea. She had never seen it, but she imagined it to be vast and sparkling under the sun. Every night, she wished upon the stars to see the sea. Her mother, Theresa, watched her with a heavy heart, wishing she could make her daughter's dream come true.
