The Magical Bookstore

One sunny afternoon, Sam and Erika stumbled upon a quaint little bookstore tucked away at the corner of their street. They had never noticed it before. Curious, they decided to explore it. As they pushed the door open, a bell chimed, echoing softly in the quiet, dusty air.

The Discovery

Behind the counter stood Mrs. Mangum, a gentle smile on her face. 'Welcome to my magical bookstore,' she said, her eyes twinkling. Sam and Erika looked at each other, puzzled. Magic? In a bookstore? They were about to find out just how magical it could be.

Mrs. Mangum's Welcome

Mrs. Mangum a grey long haired white woman. She is a Liberian. 

Ms. Mangum, a worker in the bookstore, with her kind eyes and warm smile, welcomed the children. She slowly handed them a special book tiltled, “The Adventure Of the Golden Key” and encouraged them to read it together.

The Magic Begins

Sam and Erika are in a new buddy city with a dragon and they are filled with excitement. 

As Erica and Sam excitedly flipped through the pages, they were drawn into the magical world of the book. They found themselves in a vibrant, unique, and busy city where large dragons of every color flew overhead, and people of all backgrounds lived together in harmony. 

The Pirate Adventure

Throughout their adventure, Erica and Sam encountered challenges such as struggling to find a map and learning to speak the languages of their mysterious new friends. These things required much critical thinking. 

Return to the Bookstore

A city filled with dragons, people and animals. Sam an 12 year old African American boy and Erika a white Caucasian 10 year old girl have a map in their hands and they are exploring the new city. 

Erica and Sam soon found a map and a kind translator to help them. They were finally able to fully enjoy the new world that had awaken before their eyes. New tastes, smells, sounds, and interactions taught them to question assumptions, empathize with others from different walks of life, and collaboratively solve problems.

A World of Adventures

Sam and Erika are saying goodbye to the busy city with a dragon and they are waving goodbye has a sun setting background. 

Time was quickly winding down and the children knew it was time to be getting back home soon. After saying their goodbyes, the translator instructed them on how to get back to their world. Before they knew it, they were back at The Magical Bookstore. Erica and Sam couldn’t wait to share all their stories about their eye-opening adventure with Ms. Mangum. 

The Promise

Back at the magical bookstore Sam and Erika picked another adventure book, This time, they picked it for the new bookclub they started.
