Here is Edward Bear, coming downstairs now, bump, bump, bump, on the back of his head, behind Christopher Robin. It is, as far as he knows, the only way of coming downstairs, but sometimes he feels that there really is another way, if only he could stop bumping for a moment and think of it. And then he feels that perhaps there isn't. Anyhow, here he is at the bottom, and ready to be introduced to you. Winnie-the-Pooh.

Once upon a time, there was a bear named Winnie the Pooh. He was coming downstairs, bump, bump, bump, on the back of his head. Christopher Robin was leading the way. Pooh thought maybe there was another way to come down. But he couldn't stop bumping long enough to figure it out.

The Bumpy Ride

At the bottom of the stairs, Pooh sat and thought hard. He wondered if he could slide down on his tummy. Maybe he could ask Christopher Robin for help. Pooh loved thinking of new ideas. It made him feel clever.

A New Idea

Pooh decided to ask Christopher Robin about sliding. Christopher Robin smiled and said, 'Let's try it together!' They went back to the top of the stairs. This time, Pooh slid down on his tummy. It was much more fun than bumping!

Asking for Help

From that day on, Pooh always slid down the stairs. He felt proud of his new discovery. Christopher Robin cheered him on. Pooh learned that sometimes asking for help can lead to new adventures. And he never bumped his head again.
