As the school year came to an end, Zeke looked back at everything he had accomplished. He had played his first rugby match, survived a black eye, been one of the top 10 students in his class, and even won a silver at the Eisteddfod—all with Miss Corne by his side. She wasn’t just his teacher; she was his guide, coach, and biggest supporter.

Zeke would always remember this year as the one where he discovered just how much he could do, thanks to Miss Corne’s kindness, support, and belief in him.

Zeke’s Special Year with Miss Corne

Zeke was excited and nervous about starting a new school year. He had heard that Miss Corne was a wonderful teacher. On the first day, Miss Corne welcomed everyone with a big smile. She told the class that this year would be full of fun and learning. Zeke felt happy and ready for the adventures ahead.

The New School Year

Miss Corne was more than just a teacher. She made learning fun, like turning reading and math into exciting adventures. She encouraged Zeke to try new things, even when he wasn’t sure he could. In Term 2, something amazing happened—Zeke made it into the top 10 students in his class! It was a big moment, and Miss Corne’s proud smile made him feel like he could do anything.

But school wasn’t just about books and lessons. Miss Corne also coached rugby, and Zeke decided to give it a try. It was hard at first, especially during practice when he got his first black eye! But instead of being scared, Zeke felt tough, like a real rugby player. Miss Corne told him it was all part of the game, and she was right. Before long, Zeke played his first rugby match, with Miss Corne cheering him on from the sidelines. He felt like a champion, even if he didn’t score a try.

Then came the Eisteddfod. Zeke had never performed in front of people before, and the thought of reciting a poem on stage made his knees shake. But Miss Corne believed in him. She practiced with him over and over, helping him with every line. When the big day arrived, Zeke stood on that stage, his heart pounding, and gave his best recital. He couldn’t believe it when he earned a silver for his poem! He knew Miss Corne’s encouragement was the reason he had done so well.
