Colton and Daddy Go Hunting

In the morning, bright and fun, Colton woke up, ready to run. With Daddy Nick, they had a plan, To go hunting, that was the span. In the woods, they'd search and roam, Hoping a deer would show and moan.

The Morning Sun

Nick said, 'Colton, pack your gear, Bring your bow, bring it near. We'll need snacks, and water too, For our adventure, just us two.' Together they prepared with care, Excited for the fresh morning air.

Preparation Time

Into the woods, they quietly stepped, Through the trees, carefully they crept. Colton held his bow so tight, Dreaming of a deer in sight. 'Stay close,' Nick whispered, leading the way, On this bright and early day.

They found a spot, so still and neat, Where they hoped a deer would meet. 'We wait,' said Nick, 'it's part of the hunt, Patience, my son, is the main front.' So they waited, silent and true, Hoping a deer would come into view.

The Waiting Game

Then, a rustle, a sight so dear, A beautiful deer finally appeared. Colton's heart, it raced with glee, A moment so special, for him to see. But Nick whispered, 'Let's watch and admire, Our goal isn't just to acquire.'

'See, my son,' Nick softly spoke, 'Nature's creatures are not just folk. They live and breathe, just like us, To respect them is a must.' Colton nodded, understanding the plea, That hunting was more than he could see.

The Lesson Learnt

With no deer caught, they started back, But neither felt any lack. 'Today was grand,' Colton said with a smile, 'I learned a lot, let's walk another mile.' Hand in hand, they walked with pride, Their journey more than a simple stride.

Heading Home

As the sun set, painting skies, Colton thought of the deer's eyes. 'I'm glad we let it go,' he said, 'In our hearts, we're always fed.' Nick hugged his son, under the fading light, 'You've grown so much, my boy, so bright.'
